Chipo Chung, the Chinese/Zimbabwean actress whose credentials include Doctor Who alongside David Tennant, Camelot with Eva Green and Joseph Fiennes and treading the boards with Helen Mirren at The National in the critically acclaimed production Phedre. Chipo has most recently been featured in Sky Atlantic’s Fortitude, NBC’s AD which saw her take the role of Mary Magdalene, From Darkness and Thirteen for BBC Three.
Since leaving RADA, Chipo’s career has gone from strength to strength with powerful theatrical roles including the hard-hitting Talking to Terrorists at the Royal Court; The Overwhelming at the National Theatre, and Fallujah (in which she played Condoleezza Rice) at The Truman Brewery in Brick Lane, as well as classical plays such as the critically acclaimed production of Phedre with Helen Mirren also at The National. Chipo has also appeared in several TV shows including Camelot and Sherlock, but is perhaps best known for her role in Doctor Who in 2007 where she played the Master’s Assistant Chantho opposite Sir Derek Jacobi. She returned the following year, as the Fortune Teller in an episode with Catherine Tate. On the movie front, Chipo worked with Academy Award Winner Danny Boyle on his sci-fi epic Sunshine as the Voice of Icarus.FACEBOOK FAN PAGE
